This pathway covers observational and expressive drawing with traditional or digital tools. It excludes regulated professional credentials and specialist practices that belong to separate Skills.
Short, regular observational studies build fluency; longer projects develop composition, intent and reflection.

Levels 1–3
A practical foundation for illustration, painting, design, visual journalling and more ambitious creative projects.
Safety: Use materials as directed, keep blades and spray fixatives outside this pathway, maintain a comfortable posture and take regular breaks.
Supervision: No supervision is normally needed. Children and anyone using unfamiliar specialist materials should follow appropriate adult or tutor guidance.
Accessibility: Adapt grip, tool, format, contrast, working position and session length. Digital, tactile and assisted mark-making can provide equivalent routes.
